Background
The importance of Electricity in human life is known to everybody. But it is not known that how the electricity comes to our homes and offices and how long it might continue to come.
In our country, Electricity is generated from Coal and that is a high pollutant material, has already become costly and will not be available after some years.
India has witnessed an exponential growth in the renewable energy sector (on grid and off grid) achieving a total installed capacity of around 40GW as on 31.08.2013 (Source: MNRE). Further growth is needed to achieve the vision of ‘affordable and reliable clean energy’ to every citizen of the country.
Union Budget 2015 has kept the target to generate 175GW energy from Renewable Sources (Solar, Wind, Biomass) by 2022. "This initiative will create 25million workforce in the country," according to Mr Arun Jaitely, Finance Minister of India.
The rapid growth in this sector would require an extensive pool of competent manpower (knowledgeable and skilled) to design, install and maintain the RE systems especially Solar Energy Systems.
