Qualification:                                              

  • Diploma, Graduates or Post Graduates of Science or Engineering discipline   
  • 10+2 or Non-Science / Engineering Applicants have to undergo one month training in Electrical and Electronics Basics.                                               

 

Duration

  • Regular - 3 days a week - 2 hours per day
  • Distance Learning: 12 - 18 months

      b. Solar Water Pumping System - operation, Types, Specifications, Advantages & Limitations

      c. Balance of System:

  •    Battery - classification, parameters, types, Ageing factors
  •    Charge Controller - selection, PWM & MPPT
  •    Inverter - types, Off-grid & On-grid (central, string, multi-string, modular inverter)
  •    Mounting Structure - portable, stationary and tracking
  •    Direct Current Cables - Sizing and codes
  •    Junction and Distribution Boxes
  •    Transformer

      d. AC Collection Topology: Radial, Ring and Star topologies

     e. Solar Thermal: 

  • Solar Water Heater - Flat plate & Evacuated tube collector, System technologies, Water quality, Types of SWHs, Selection od technology, Sizing, Benefits.  
  • Solar Cooker - Parabolic & Community based Solar cooker              
  • Concentrated Solar Power - Parabolic Trough, Linear Frensel, Solar Tower & Sterling Dish Collector.

     f. Next Generation PV Technologies

  • Monofacial PERC Solar Cell

  • Half-Cut Solar Cell

     g. Application of PVsyst and Sketchup software for Solar Power Plant designing (participants will not be provided the copy of the software. Participant has to carry his/her own Laptop)    

3. Fuel Cell Technology: Principle of operation, Adavantages & Disadvantages, Types of Fuel cells, Comparison with Batteries and IC Engines, Applications.                                              

4.  Wind Energy

Wind Energy Program in India, Wind Power in India, Conversion of Wind to Electric Energy, Wind Power Plants, Wind Power Quality and Electrical Generators, Grid Integration of Wind Power Plants, Wind Resource Assessment, Economics of Wind Power Plants, Wind Power Project Development, Wind Power Policy, Wind Power and the Environment.           

5.  Biomass Technologies
