1. The Rule of our Research Program are given below:

• You need to complete some ORIGINAL course work for requisite credits. For completion of credit through course work a formal proposal of research (synopsis) devised in consultation with your guide and approved by Doctoral Committee (academic advisors committee of CDSRI).
• Within 1 year from admission with us you should satisfy the doctoral committee with your research progress.
• If the Doctoral Committee recommends then CDSRI will get the candidate registered to any UGC recognised University with whom CDSRI has MoU.
• In another next 2-3 years depending on your subject and research proposal you should continue your research and try to achieve the objectives.
• You need at least four publication in peer reviewed journals in some universities or registered research institutes.
• When you and your guides feel that you have achieved the objectives, the guides permit you and then allow you to present the synopsis to the committee for formally giving the permission for writing the thesis.
• Once the committee is satisfied with your research progress and thesis, you should get the papers corrected from your guide and submit 6 copies to your host institute (here CDSRI).
• The host institute experts examine your thesis and if approved by them then you can proceed to final step for the Viva of your research and also should get the whole research evaluated by the external examiner.
• The candidate will be dropped with immediate effect if found by the Doctoral Committee for PLAGIARISM. In that case no refund will be made to the candidate.

3. The fee structure is given below:

• Registration Fee (one time):                Rs. 10,000
• Course fee payable for every year:    Rs. 95,000

4. Designation of the Course: The Ph.D degree awarded by the competent authority (University) shall be designated as Doctorate of Philosophy. The certificate shall not indicate the subject or specify. The title of the thesis shall be indicated in the certificate.

5. Eligibility for Admission:

A Candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a degree of  Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) must posses at least one of the following qualifications:

a.  Master’s degree in respective subject with 55% marks.

b. Any modification in eligibility criteria will be considered, subject to approval of CDSRI doctoral committee.

 6. Classification of Candidates:

Part Time: Working people at any company/ institute, doing their Research at CDSRI on part-time basis.

 7. Duration of the Program:

a.  The duration of the program will be from the time of registration till the submission of final thesis.   

b.   The minimum duration for Part Time Ph.D shall be 4 years from the date of registration & maximum duration shall not exceed 7 years.

 8. Course Work: The candidate has to complete a course work 8-12 credits during th first year research work. The course work may be interms of subjects, attending classes/ practical, seminars or self study  which will suggested by the Doctoral Committee.

 9. Progress Report: The candidate has to submit the progress report to the research to the Head of the Institution in every six months.

    The Head of the Institute will forward the copy to the members of Doctoral Committee in advance.

10. Cancellation of Registration:

a.  The registration will be cancelled on the recommendation of Doctoral 

      Committee due to lack of progress.

b.  For not submitting the thesis on time.

c.  For not paying the fee on time.

11. Examination: The head of the institute in consultation to Doctoral Committee will appoint an examiner to assess the thesis. The examiner will submit a detail critique on the thesis. His/ Her recommendation should be include in the thesis. Viva Voce examination will take place at the seminar.   Final submission of the thesis should be made after the inclusion of all  recommendations.

12. Result: Result will be declared by the institution after the consent of Examiner and Doctoral Committee.

13. Award of Degree: Candidate who qualify for Ph.D degree shall be awarded the degree by the UGC recognised University.

14. Admission Procedure: Interested Candidates should send a Demad Draft (DD) of Rs.500/- in favor of Chandradeep Solar Research Institute, payable at Kolkata to obtain the Application Form. Afterwards they should fill it up, enclose the xerox copies of all the academic documents, proof of identity, one page research proposal and the payment for the first year.
